Winding Down the Year...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Planning for 2013-14 with Northside Consulting:

Spring exams and assessments are over, and schedules for next year are set. It's time to think about next year, already!

  • Does our district curriculum align with the Common Core State Standards?
  • Has the staff reviewed the new Next Generation Science Standards?
  • Has our current SRBI process addressed the needs of all of our learners?
  • Do teachers use high-quality independent learning stations and centers as anchoring activities in their classrooms?
  • How can we increase the Depth of Knowledge of our learning tasks?
  • Do teachers plan instruction with language and second language needs in mind?
  • Are we getting the most out of our analysis of data and student work?
  • How can we extend our classroom into the outdoors and the community?

Click over to the blog post on the 2nd draft of the Next Generation Science Standards, which are available for review and comment.

I am very excited about these standards. Please make sure that you provide any feedback by the deadline in the article.

    • Water your veggie seedlings...
    • Make a summer reading list...
    • Get out your summer clothes...
    • Plan a field day...

    Have a great spring!
